단맛을 내면서 설탕 흡수를 방해한다
자작나무 등에 든 당이다. 작은창자에서 설탕을 쪼개는 일을 방해해, 같이 먹은 설탕 중 일부가 흡수되지 못하게 만든다.
설탕 흡수를 줄였다고 하는 설탕 제품이 이 원리를 쓴다.
