조개껍데기·석회석과 같은 성분이다. 위산과 만나야 칼슘으로 풀려 흡수된다. 위산을 중화시켜 속쓰림 약으로도 쓴다.
위산이 적은 사람이나 위산 억제제를 먹는 중이면 흡수가 떨어진다. 식사와 같이 먹는 게 낫다.
