Allulose
Definition
A rare sugar present in tiny amounts in figs and raisins. About 70% as sweet as sugar with almost no calories (0.2–0.4 kcal/g).
In the body
Absorbed but not metabolized, then excreted, so it barely affects blood sugar or insulin.
Watch out for
Large amounts can cause abdominal discomfort. In Korea it is not counted as a sugar on labels, so a product listed at 0 sugars may still contain it.
